JULIA MURRAY | A Canadian Olympian, Registered Holistic Nutritionist, and creator of Jules Fuel Breakfast brings her insight and experience to healthy eating and active living

Julia Murray comes from the stuff of legend. Her father, Dave Murray, was a two-time Canadian Olympic hero, and her mother, Stephanie Sloan, was a 3x Canadian World Champion Freestyle Skier. So I guess it’s no coincidence that Julia followed in her parents' footsteps. Hailing from beautiful Whistler, BC, Julia forged her own path to glory at a young age as a multiple World Cup Medalist for the Canadian National Ski Cross Team. Qualifying for the 2010 Winter Olympics was a dream come true for Julia, but just a few months out from competition, and being one of the heavy favorites to win Gold for Canada, Julia suffered a devastating and complete knee injury. Through grueling physical therapy and aggressive rehab, Julia not only competed for Canada, but unbelievably finished a very respectful 6th.

Julia has now moved on to the next phase of her career and professional life as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and is the creator of Jules Fuel! Jules Fuel was born out of Julia’s need for something healthy to eat while travelling the world and often being relegated to heavy foods with little nutritional value. Jules Fuel is a breakfast blend that is natural, organic, vegan and low glycemic.

Shannon Vandermeer

SHANNON VANDERMEER | A mother's tips on healthy eating for kids and the whole family, achieving balance in a hectic day, and finding time for you!

Hello everyone! My name is Shannon Vandermeer. I am a daughter, a sister, a wife and a friend. I have a house and a van (woohoo!), a husband, three children, a dog and seven chickens. Although I grew up in the city, I am a country girl at heart. I love camping and going to the cottage, planting veggies and playing soccer. I enjoy hot tea on a cold day, fresh eggs (hence the seven chickens) and I have a weakness for chocolate (or any candy for that matter).

In the days before children (and my husband), I graduated from the Health Studies program at the University of Waterloo. Now my days are filled with a vast array of mommy-duties and grown-up responsibilities. Hopefully at the end of each day, there's a little time left over for 'me' or at least some time to unwind. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for the opportunity to connect with you!
