It's that time of year again: Christmas cookies are aplenty, holiday cocktails are abound. We often allow ourselves some indulgences during the holiday season, which is fine, good even! Treat yourself and enjoy! But, all good things in moderation, ya hear?
A really big part of MMA is your weight. There are many different weight classes in MMA, but in the UFC there are two main weight classes for women; 115lbs (straw weight) and 135lbs (bantamweight). I am a straw weight fighter. Having only two weight classes for women creates a challenge for many because being in the UFC is the primary goal for most fighters. Since women’s MMA in the UFC is still very new, cutting or gaining weight is a sacrifice we must make to enter one of those weight classes to be able to compete.
