Do I Really Have to Wash Off my Make-up?

Do I Really Have to Wash Off my Make-up?

When I first started wearing make-up, I remember hearing that your skin ages seven days for every night you sleep with make-up on. I used to think that someone came up with that to scare you into washing your face every day, but as I got older I began to wonder if there was any truth to that statement. I tend to not wear very much make-up; just a little eye-shadow, mascara and lip gloss. So for someone who doesn't wear a lot, I may mistakenly think that going to bed without washing my face is not that big of a deal. Missing a day here and there when you're out late or are just so tired you forget is really not a big deal. You won't wake up in the morning and wonder where all those new wrinkles came from. But if you consistently leave your make-up on when you go to bed you can cause unnecessary damage to your skin.

Am I “Old” Enough for Anti-Aging Products?

Am I “Old” Enough for Anti-Aging Products?

I am sure you have heard the phrase, “You are only as old as you feel”. Well if that is the case, I am only 25! (Wohoo!) But even though I may feel like I am only 25, when I look in the mirror the face looking back at me is starting to indicate otherwise. Fine lines are slowly starting to appear around my eyes. Many of us have creases on our foreheads when we furrow our brow. If I look close enough when my face is relaxed, I can see exactly where those marks will appear. I can remember being a teenager and having a conversation with my mother about anti-wrinkle and anti-aging products. Because I was still so young, she assured me that I did not need to worry about using these products for many years. Now, it is many years later and I am at the point in my life where I am starting to genuinely wonder if now is the right time to look into doing what I can to keep my skin looking and feeling youthful for as long as possible.

How and Why Does the Skin Age?

How and Why Does the Skin Age?

Each year, every one of us celebrates a birthday. As we celebrate, we become another year older. Each time my birthday comes and goes, I find myself thinking about the fact that even though I am another year older, I don't feel any different than I did the day before. I probably don't look drastically different than the day before, but over time I do. As the years go by, my fashion sense may change, my hair style may change and gradually I begin to age. There are many things that happen to our bodies as we age, but I think the part of aging that bothers us the most, especially women, is the aging of our skin. So what happens as the skin ages and why does it occur?
