3 Quick Tips to Supercharge your Metabolism
Although our metabolism sometimes seems like it has a mind of its own, we want to share three easy tips to put you back in control and allow you to live a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
Weight Training: Okay, this seems like an obvious one, but hear us out for a second. Many people believe the best way to burn calories is through cardiovascular activities (jogging, biking, etc.), when in reality if you want to get faster results, try strength training. By doing so, your body creates new and improved mitochondria (the part of the cell that plays a central role in metabolic energy).
Sleep: Studies have shown insufficient sleep may increase your risk of heart disease, as well, lowers our brain and immune performance. If possible, you should strive to get at least 7-8 hours of consistent sleep to allow yourself to truly recover. For quick tips to improving sleep, check out our previous article.
Put down the alcohol (please): Okay, you can go pick it back up after you read this if you want. But, alcohol affects not only your health (slows down metabolism, impairs brain function, disrupts liver) but also dehydrates your body which leads to dry skin. Due to the amount of alcohol that is normally consumed, even a slight decrease could show significant results.
